History of Berthoud's Farming Heritage Photo Exhibit The history of Berthoud is deeply intertwined with agriculture. The town was simply the trading center for farmers and their families. Today the fields are gradually giving way to suburban tracts, obliterating the history and lifestyle. Most modern Berthoud people are not connected to the soil, nor do they understand the process of farming. The mission of the Berthoud Farm Project is to document our rich agricultural heritage before it fades away. In 2003 the Berthoud Historical Society began collecting oral histories, historical and contemporary photographs and artifacts from farmers and farm families in the Berthoud area. Four calendars, numerous oral histories, and a photographic exhibit and catalog are the results of those efforts. Traveling Exhibit of Berthoud's Farming Heritage Photo Exhibit The Berthoud's Farming Heritage photo exhibit opened at the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District Office in Berthoud on May 12, 2007 and was on exhibit there until July 6, 2007. The photos then moved to the Foote Gallery at the Loveland Museum and Gallery. The exhibit is currently on display in the banquet room at Johnson's Corner until January 15, 2008 afterwhich it will travel to the Larimer County Justice Center in Fort Collins on January 18, 2008 and remain on display until March 15, 2008.
