The Berthoud Historical Society offers a variety of programs and events throughout the year at our locations at the Little Thompson Valley Pioneer Museum and the McCarty Fickel Home.

The Little Thompson Valley Pioneer Museum displays permanent exhibits about the history of the area as well as featuring a special temporary exhibit every year.

The museum also hosts monthly star gazing nights in our Bunyan Observatory from April to November, a speaker series from October to March, and an Antique Appraisal Fair in April.

The McCarty Fickel Home, a 1916 Denver Square home displays permanent exhibits about the McCarty-Fickel family as well as hosting monthly lunches and other events throughout the year.

Every summer we hold a History Day Summer Camp for students K-5th grade at the Little Thompson Valley Pioneer Museum.

The Society puts on an old-fashioned Barn Social each May.  The Barn Social is an evening of music, food, and fun hosted at a local historic farm.

Our major fundraising event is our Pioneer Heritage Gala, which takes place annually in September.
